Job Description:

First level Applications Development professional, representing the most common entry point into the organization. Performs routine activities related to applications development. Focuses on learning and acquiring work skills/knowledge in the Applications Development field..

Responsibilities:

Develop/Enhance database maintenance utilities written in Python/Perl/Shell/Java.
Participate in database maintenance activities on a daily basis.
Provide weekend and on call support in application DBA role when required.
Establish best practices for writing stored procedures, functions, and the utility development.
Assist application development teams in the schema design and SQL tuning

Self-motivated and can work with very little supervision in a team environment

Qualifications:

Primary Skill: Python with DJango
Secondary Skill: client side technologies (JavaScript; CSS) frameworks (such as jQuery and Bootstrap) Knowledge in both SQL databases
Experiences: Python libraries/frameworks such as Flask; SQLAlchemy etc experience in developing based web applications. Ability to operate in an agile environment. Good knowledge of schema design. Should have hands on working experience with RDBMS
Sound knowledge of Object oriented programming and its concepts. Very good at basic computer science fundamentals and algorithms. Experience with Git or another versioning system. Strong in problem solving and logical abilities. Good at understanding optimization frameworks. Experience in python as a backend language, and javascript/html/css for frontend preferred. Past experience in web domain will be given preference. Having understanding of data sources like Memcache and Redis.
Having worked on high traffic scale products would be a big plus. NoSQL knowledge databases will a big plus.
