Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
- Should hold a Bachelor’s degree of recognised university with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (ie.1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree Candidates wherever applicable). Minimum 55% marks Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education [Candidates not in possession of Physics & Maths in 10 + 2(Intermediate) level are not eligible for General Duty(GD).
Age Limit: Born between 01 Jul 1990 to 30 Jun 1999
Age Relaxation:
- For SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- For OBC candidates: 3 years

Indian Coast Guard Selection process:
Stage -I
(a) Shortlisting of Applications. Short listing criteria will be based on higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and the qualifying cut off for a particular centre may be increased more than 55% if more applications with higher % are received.
(b) Preliminary Selection. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Preliminary Selection at given date and time which will consist of Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP & DT). The aptitude test will be in English only and will be objective type.
Stage –II.
Final Selection:
The candidates who qualify Preliminary Selection will be called for Final Selection. The date and venue for Final Selection Board (FSB) will be uploaded on Indian Coast Guard website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in. The Final Selection will consist of Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test). All documents/ certificates verified during PSB are also required to be produced in originals during FSB.

Indian Coast Guard Selection process for Navik:
Selection will be based on the written examination, physical fitness test followed by the medical examination.
Written Exam Scheme:
The written examination will be of objective type, which will generally cover subjects such as Maths, Physics, Basic Chemistry, Knowledge of English up to 12th standard, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning etc.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
PFT will be conducted for all those who qualify the written tests.
The PFT will consist of:-
- 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
- 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
- 10 Push up. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
